Swatch: OPI - Here Today...Aragon Tomorrow (Suede)

Hi ladies! I have another one of my OPI Suede polishes for you today, in the form of Here Today...Aragon Tomorrow. It seems to be a common theme amongst OPI Suede polishes looking nothing like their original counterparts and Here Today...Aragon Tomorrow is no exception to that rule. Originally released in the 'La Coleccion De España' of Autumn 2009 as an almost black, army green creme (which can be seen here); Here Today...Aragon Tomorrow (Suede) couldn't be any further away from it's original as a stunning Emerald Green matte packed with tiny, Silver, foil like shimmer.

Of course, like all my other Suede posts, I had to add a topcoat! Here it is with one coat of China Glaze - No Chip Topcoat.

How freaking amazing does it look with a Top Coat on?! It looks like it's almost radioactive, Superman thinks Kryptonite is his weakness...he clearly never came into contact with this stunner. I was so completely taken with this polish that it graced my nails for 4 whole days! Since I change up my nails daily, sometimes even multiple times a day (especially when swatching), this is an accomplishment. I even stopped my 'swatchfest' although I was only 3 polishes in.

What do you think to OPI's Here Today...Aragon Tomorrow (Suede)? I bet you've all gone and added this to your 'must have or I'll die' list, right?!

Swatch: BarryM - Denim & Comparison

Hi ladies, so I was going to wait to show you this after I had posted a Nail Mail post, but I'm just too excited and I couldn't wait. BarryM have recently released a new selection of colours, as well as 4 new magnetic polishes! I originally thought that they had only brought out 3 new Nail Paint shades (Silvery Lilac, Teal & (there's another one but I don't know the name!), but when I went into my Superdrug today, I saw an extra two that I have never seen before!

Black Multi Glitter & Denim
As you can see from the title, I am going to be showing you Denim today. Now Denim is an exact dupe for Ciaté - Regatta, which you will see later in the post! Denim is a denim blue base with blue and silver shimmer! Like Ciaté it dries to an almost Satin/Suede finish. I, like everyone, LOVE BarryM's formula. Almost every polish I have tried from BarryM is opaque in 1 to 2 coats, which is amazing in my opinion, especially since they are so inexpensive. Below is 2 coats of Denim with a thin layer of Top Coat.

Indoors, No Flash.
As you can see, it's absolutely stunning. One of the main reasons behind me purchasing this shade was to do a swatch comparison with Ciaté - Regatta. The swatches below are two coats of both polishes without a Top Coat, can you tell which one is which? I sure can't.

Regatta & Denim

Indoors, No flash.
I'm sure you're all dying to know which is which...
Pointer - Regatta
Middle - Denim
Ring - Regatta
Pinkie - Denim

As you can see, they are exact dupes for one another! There is absolutely no difference between both of these polishes except for the price! BarryM polishes retail for £2.99 each for 10ml with the exception of their Nail Effects (£3.99) and their Magnetics (£4.99) and are available from their website, Boots and Superdrug as well as various other online retailers. However, Ciaté polishes retail for £9 each for 13.5ml which are available to purchase on their website, that's £6 more than BarryM polishes for 3.5ml worth of product. If you've been lusting after Regatta for a while now, but don't want to pay out £9 for it; here's your cheaper alternative! I wouldn't even say there's a difference in formula either, the biggest issue between these would probably be their longevity (I will test them both over the next couple of days and get back to you).

Wow, this was a long post! Kudos if you're still here with me! What are your thoughts on the new BarryM Nail Paint range? Will you be picking up any of the new colours?

Swatch: OPI - OPI Ink (Suede)

Hi ladies, I'm back again with another one of my OPI Suede polishes. I was recently able to complete the Suede collection, however two of them are currently at Nicels house as she kindly let me ship them to her to save me a fortune on international shipping! Speaking of Nicel, this is actually one of the polishes she sent me in our recent swap! The original OPI Ink was released in Spring/Summer 2007 as part of the Night Brights collection and as like all the Suedes in the collection - OPI Ink (Suede) is completely different to OPI Ink.
OPI Ink Suede is, what I would describe as a 'blurple', but more commonly known as Indigo. The photos do show it to be a lot more blue toned than it actually is, but as of this moment, that can't be helped. The photos are two coats of OPI Ink Suede, the formula was pretty good, a little streaky when first applied but evens out in the second layer. The drying time is also really fast, like the rest of them in the collection.

And here it is with the mandatory top coat

Do you own any of the OPI Suedes? If so which ones? These have long been discontinued, but you can still find them on various websites such as eBay and Aveyou for a reasonable price. I was able to get both Russian Navy & You Don't Know Jacques Suede for $8.50 each from Aveyou, so it's worth looking around if you've been lusting after them.

Swatch: OPI - Lincoln Park After Dark (Suede) & a mini haul!

Today I have for you OPI - Lincoln Park After Dark from their Suede collection. This is actually the second Suede I own, courtesy of a lovely lady called Casey in PaA who picked this up for me from a US only website! I currently have another suede coming in a swap from the lovely Nicel @ Operation: Nail It!, so I just need to get my hands on the final three.

Lincoln Park After Dark Suede is a gorgeous Eggplant base packed with Silver shimmer, there's even hints of Blue & Pink shimmer in sunlight too! It's definitely a lot different to it's original almost black counterpart, released in 2005 as part of OPI's Chicago Collection. I absolutely looove this colour! If you saw my We'll Always Have Paris Suede post, then you know what's coming now...Top Coat time! How beautiful does it look with a Top Coat?!? I almost wet my knickers when I started applying it, it's sooo stunning! If you're able to get your hands on LPADS then I definitely suggest doing so, you will not be disappointed.

Now time for my little haul that I got today of which none is for me! I'm currently sticking(ish) to my no buy! *yay* Swap polishes do not count in these. First of all, here is what came in the mail today;

Here are the W7 Metallic Planets, which I don't actually know why they're called Metallic, they're absolutely gorgeous Duo chrome polishes! Very similar to those from Models Own Beetlejuice collection! I actually picked these up for a swap I'm doing with Nicole from Let Me See Ur Peacock but now I have seen them in person, I'm definitely getting myself a set once my no buy is over!

These babies I picked up from my local town for another swap I'm doing, actually 2 swaps. The first 3 BarryM's are for my friend Marnie from Ambianceshop and the rest are for the Marisa from Polish Obsession for our swap! I was really disappointed with my trip into town, I went on the search for the illusive Fantasy Fire only to find that my Superdrug doesn't stock any of the MaxFactor mini's and that my Boots had every other colour in the range besides FF! How annoying is that!? I thought that living in a tiny town would have it's benefits when it comes to lusted after polishes!

So that has been my day in a nutshell, taking swatches and going shopping. I actually enjoyed going polish shopping, even if I wasn't getting anything for myself, the thrill was still there. How sad, right?!?

OPI - We'll Always Have Paris (Suede)

Today I have for you my first OPI suede polish in the form of We'll Always Have Paris.
We'll Always Have Paris is a gorgeous soft purple rose packed full of silvery shimmer, I don't have the original WAHP from their La Collection De France released in Fall 2008, but from the swatches I have seen of the polish - the suede version is completely different. I used two coats for the swatch, but one would have been enough. It also dries extremely quick, which I think is a common trait amongst Suedes/Mattes.
After having this polish on my nails, I have the need to get the rest of the Suede collection! I currently have Lincoln Park After Dark and Ink Suede coming to me, but I will have to look around for the rest of them!

I wanted to see what WAHP looked like with a top coat on top so I used China Glaze Patent Leather Top Coat and this is what I got! Oooh shiny! I actually think I prefer it without a top coat, although it looks gorgeous with one, without gives it a more unique look instead of just being a run of the mill polish.
What are your thoughts on Suede polishes? Do you prefer them to Matte?
