Guest Post: Easter Skittles

Good afternoon, everyone!! My name is Shipra, and I go by Tanejasbride: http://www.tanejasbride.wordpress.com. I'm a mother to a 6 month old baby boy, a published author (working on my 2nd book!), and I am a HUGE cosmetics and nail polish fanatic!

Today, I decided to share a cute and simple manicure for Spring or even festive enough for Easter! Pastel Skittles! :)

Lavender - Sally Hansen Lacey Lilac
The formula to this Xtreme Wear is a little runny, but if you place just the right amount on your brush, you won't flood your cuticles. I used 3 coats to get the bottle color. I topped it off with some Seche Vite.

Baby Pink - OPI Pink FridayThis is my all-time favorite OPI. I think I was on pins and needles UNTIL its arrival - it's from the Nicki Minaj Collection that came out January 2012. It is definitely a color I wear the most. It's a little tricky, but if you are careful, you can apply it smoothly. I always am praising the OPI brushes because they are perfect for applying in one stroke, which means it will dry faster! This was also 3 coats!

Peach - Julep HaydenI love this Julep - one of my favorites by them. The formula is in the middle - not too runny and not too thick. It's definitely a 3 coater. Isn't that a lovely peach?

Mint - Revlon MintedI love mint colors this Spring, and I bought this to be my base color for Revlon Whimsical, but to be honest, it's quite lovely alone! It has wonderful formula like most Revlon's do. A creamy buttery goodness that is not tough to apply. The brush is thin, but if you apply it correctly, you will get a smooth finish! This was 3 coats.

Pastel Yellow - China Glaze Lemon Fizz
I literally looked high and low for this one. I searched and searched for THE perfect pastel yellow, and I found it in Lemon Fizz. I think Julep Blake would be a perfect dupe, but I have yet to try it (even though, I do own it). The formula is thick on this China Glaze, so you have to make sure you take the excess polish off the brush before you apply or you will get a thick coat, which is bound to smear, and you really don't want that! So, remember, thin coats and 3 of them! :)

So, if you know me, I'm always trying to add some glitter or sparkle to any manicure. So, I decided to try Hits Hefesto (a holographic top coat). I used 3 coats of Hits Hefesto and then layered it AGAIN with Seche Vite's top coat. I think it jazzed it up, for sure! What do you think?

What manicure are you planning for Spring/Easter?

Swatch: China Glaze - Light As Air

Hi ladies! I'm back with a China Glaze polish for you today. China Glaze has to be one of my all time favourite 'international' brands. I remember when I first got some from eBay, I just stared at them so happy to have a 'high end' brand in my then BarryM only collection. Now I mention it, I think this was amongst the first ones I had! *nostalgia*

Light As Air was released with the 'Up & Away' collection in Spring 2010 and is a gorgeous greyed out, pastel lilac creme with subtle pink undertones. The finish almost looks matte in the photos, but I promise it isn't.

The best thing about this polish is that *I think* it looks amazing with my skin tone. Being two fangs away from a vampire, not a lot of pale polishes suit my skin tone, let alone pale purples. But this! Oh my word, I LOVE it. I know I say this a lot, but I can't believe I've left it to hibernate in my collection for so long! This is definitely perfect for Spring!
So, what are your 'go to' polishes this Spring? Will you be rocking the pastel shades, going bold with brights or are you still loving the dark shades? I'd love to hear from you!

Swatch: Finger Paints - Tough Art To Follow

Hi ladies, I have another Finger Paints polish for you today. I'm completely in love with Finger Paints polishes at the moment, the main reason being that they're completely new to me and I have been wanting to get my hands on some for so long now. The other reason being that they are amazing.

Tough Art To Follow is a dark, forest green creme. It can look almost black in some lighting and reminds me of OPI - Here Today...Aragon Tomorrow which I swatched here. I'll try and get a comparison post up on my Facebook page as soon as possible. As you can see in the second photo, when in direct sunlight, you can definitely see the green a lot more. I'm sorry this is such a short post today! I'm actually writing this at 2:30am and I am exhausted!
I'd love to try even more Finger Paints polishes, so if you're able to get a hold of them, let me know in the comments or send me an e-mail at polishedcriminails@gmail.com and we can discuss a potential swap in the future!

Polish Count: March

Hi ladies! As we're nearing the end of March, I thought it was about time I posted my monthly 'polish count' update! If you're new to my blog and haven't seen this before, basically every month I do a total count of my stash (using my spreadsheet, I don't sit there and count them every month, I promise) and make a post. This is a way for me to keep track of my monthly purchases and polishes I have received from swaps etc, and also a way to show you guys how out of control I really am! So without further ado, here's my count for the month of March!

Polish Count (March 27th); 315

So that's a total of 68 polishes I have added to my stash this month! I'd say that this month is definitely one of the larger months I have had in a while. I said in my last polish count post that once I reached 300 polishes, I was going to invest in a Helmer, well that hasn't happened yet! I'm working on it, I promise. Here's a little photo I took of my stash yesterday when sorting them out! This isn't actually everything, I forgot to include all of my E.L.F polishes and some misc cheap brand polishes from the market, as you can see, I do have a challenge deciding what colour to wear when I want to paint my nails!

Nail Mail: & A Mini Haul

Hi ladies! So I did a little bit of shopping today and I also received a package from the lovely Emily in my Facebook group! The shopping I did was mainly for a swap I am doing with Nicole from Let Me See Ur Peacock but I did pick up a couple of polishes I have been lemming and also a couple polishes for some friends.
So the photo to the left is an overlook on everything I got in the mail/bought today. If you care to take a scroll down, I will show you which polishes are actually mine!

Sinful Colors - Nail Junkie, Butter London - The Black Knight & Sinful Colors - I Miss You
The first things I have to show you are the AMAZING polishes I received in the mail today from Emily! I posted in a group I'm in about how much I wanted Butter London - The Black Knight and Emily said she'd just ordered it and she would swap with me for it. I then saw an earlier post from her saying how she'd like to get her hands on GOSH - Ocean & Gasoline, so I offered to trade her those for The Black Knight! She was also kind enough to throw in two Sinful Colors polishes! I wish I'd had taken a photo of the packaging! It was SO cute. Thanks again Emily for your kindness and willingness to help a polish addict in need!

Max Factor - Meteorite, Moon Dust, Odyssey Blue & Graffiti
I didn't actually get these today, I ordered them about a week and a half ago from Superdrug.com but have yet to feature them in a haul post. Since getting my hands on Fantasy Fire, I wanted to try out some of the other colours that were launched along side it. They're so pretty! The only downside is the size of them, they're SO small *sadface*

GOSH - Deep Purple, Metallic Blue & Attitude
Last but not least, from my trip into town, I picked up these GOSH polishes from the clearance bin! I love finding new things in there, and these I definitely hadn't seen before in the clearance, so I snatched them up for £2 each!

I was feeling pretty accomplished after my little shopping spree and wanted to celebrate (not as glamorous as it sounds) so as the sun is shining today and it is RIDICULOUSLY hot outside, I thought I would take my doggy for a walk in the fields behind our house.
How beautiful is that view? Proper English countryside.
My doggy and my boyfriend! How cute is this photo? :')
So there you have it! My day in a nutshell. I hope you enjoyed the post and have a few new lemmings you want to add to your wish list! Now I think I will enjoy the rest of the sunshine (even if it is starting to get a bit chilly) out in my garden! Enjoy the rest of your Monday!

Swatch: Color Club - New Bohemian

Hello! Me again ^.^ Now lets be honest, how many of you are surprised that I am STILL posting daily? I know I am. You may remember me saying a while ago that I wasn't going to buy any more polish until I have swatched at least a third of my collection...well as you can see from my haul posts (not including polishes I got from swaps) that hasn't really worked out too well. BUT I am determined to continuously swatch my stash until I feel I have the right tried to untried ratio. I'm also trying to cut back on buying polish until I have my Helmer (which I am still to order!) Anyway enough of the babble, lets get into the post.

New Bohemian comes from the Back to Boho collection released in Autumn of last year. It's a gorgeous bright, pastel turquoise creme that is opaque in 2/3 coats. When I first saw this polish I thought it was a dupe for China Glaze - For Audrey, but when paired together New Bohemian is a lot more greener than For Audrey. I'll try and get a comparison up on my Facebook page in the next couple of days, so keep an eye out for that! I was really surprised with Color Clubs formula, especially since it's one of the cheaper American brands (I believe). It's not thick but not watery either, it's 'just right' as Goldilocks once said. Have you tried any Color Club before? If so what is your favourite colour?

Swatch: GOSH - Golden Dragon

Hi ladies, I have another GOSH polish for you today. If you're in the UK you may have noticed GOSH clearance bins popping up in your local Superdrug filled with old seasoned make-up and nail polish. If you have yet to browse through one, I suggest you do so as I have heard people have found the elusive Holographic and Rainbow polishes in them! I am yet to be so lucky, but I have managed to find Golden Dragon, which I believe is discontinued and some other awesome finds for just £2 each! Please excuse the state of the bottle, there was a HUGE sticker over the label which has left a lot of residue *sadface*

Golden Dragon is a blue-toned green base packed with golden shimmer. I must admit, I was a little disappointed with how this looks on the nail, the polish when in the bottle looks amazing; almost like it's laced with gold. The application was okay, the polish was a little bit gloopy, but I imagine that is due to the way it was stored and it's age, as all the bottles are generally just thrown in the clearance bin. The swatch is 2 coats, please excuse my sorry excuse of a clean up! I'm currently waiting for my cuticle nippers to get rid of all the little skin stumps that my polish loves to cling to.

Nail Mail: My Swap Polishes from Marisa!

Hi ladies! I have an exciting post for you today, in the form of a Swap Haul I received this morning from Marisa @ Polish Obsession! We've had the swap in the mix for months and now it's finally here! I loved everything she sent me, especially the polishes from my wish list! She's yet to receive hers, but keep checking her blog if you're interested in what I sent ^.^. So without further ado, lets get straight into everything!

The first polishes she sent me were some OPI and Essie from my wish list! From L-R we have OPI - Lincoln Park After Dark, Essie - Carry On, Essie - Sew Psyched, Essie - Mink Muffs and OPI - Russian Navy. I'm so excited to have more Essie! I only had one up to now and it was looking a little lonely, so now it has some friends to cheer it up! Lincoln Park After Dark has been a long time lemming of mine, so I'm finally glad I can add it to my collection and Russian Navy is just down right beautiful.

The next lot of polishes she sent me from L-R are; China Glaze - Sea Spray, Finger Paints - It's An Original, Finger Paints - Laugh My Art Off, Finger Paints - Red Brandt, Finger Paints - Flashy (yes another FP flakie!) and China Glaze - Pool Party. LOOOVE Pool Party! I've been wanting it for so long but it was always out of stock or super expensive here in the UK :( but I can now say it's finally mine!!

Last but not least for the polishes are some Spoiled. I've been seeing these all over the blogesphere and I have been wanting to try some of them, especially the glitters just because they look gorgeous! From L-R we have Ants In My Pants, Cougar Attack, Deeper Dive, My Saturn Broke Down and Papa-paparazzi. These are sooo pretty! I'm yet to swatch everything on my wheels yet, so I'm looking forward to that! And yes, My Saturn Broke Down is a dupe for OPI - Last Friday Night!

And finally a picture of the candies/chocolates and the note she sent me! My boyfriend enjoyed tucking into the sweets whilst I was busy unwrapping my polishes, bless. He gets a little enjoyment whenever I get a swap package with the candies and chocolates that are inside.

So that is all the goodies I received in my swap package with Marisa! How amazing is she?! Thanks again Marisa for being an absolute angel!! If you haven't checked out her blog yet, you should click this link and go check her out! Now all I need to do is make some room in my already overflowing storage boxes to put these beauties away! I will eventually buy myself a Helmer!

Swatch: Color Club - Worth The Risque

Looking dull in Natural Lighting
Hi ladies! Today I have an absolutely beautiful polish to show you! I received this in my swap package from Nicel @ Operation: Nail It! (you can see that post *here*) and I can't believe I've waited this long to post it!

Worth The Risque comes from the Femme Fatale collection of Spring 2009 and is a gorgeous silver holographic polish! In my opinion, the holo effect is both linear and scattered. Why? I hear you ask; well, in the bottle you can see the scattered holographic particles, but when on the nail the linear side starts to peer through. Don't believe me? Take a look at it in direct sunlight!

As you can see, scattered in the bottle, slight linear on the nails. This aside (not that it's even THAT relevant) it's still the most beautiful polish in the world, okay not the most beautiful, but until I own another silver holo such as OMG by China Glaze or Holographic by GOSH, it is the most beautiful silver holo in my collection.

What are your opinions on holographic polishes? Are you pro holo or anti holo? Let me know in the comments!

Swatch: Finger Paints - Vermillion $ Painting

Hi ladies! I'm back again with another swatch for you, this time it isn't from BarryM! *gasp* Today is a very special day, as it is this particular brands debut on Polished Criminails! Can we all give it a warm welcome? Anyway, craziness aside, lets actually get into the good stuff shall we?
Finger Paints is an American brand which is exclusively sold at Sally's stores in the US. Being British, I never thought I would be able to get my hands on any of their polishes but thanks to some amazing people aka Nicel & Sarah, I now have a tiny collection of Finger Paints I can call my own.

Vermillion $ Painting is a bright red toned orange with golden orange shimmer. It's definitely one of those polishes that are impossible to capture on camera, well at least for my hunk-of-junk camera anyway. The pictures do make it look a little lot more red than it actually is. The swatch is 2 coats of Vermillion $ Painting, I think 3 would have been better as the nail line is slightly visible still. Overall, I'm pretty happy with Finger Paints and cannot wait to get my hands on some more!
Thanks again to both Nicel & Sarah for their kindness! If you haven't checked out their blogs, I suggest you go and do so now, I promise you won't be disappointed.

Swatch: BarryM - Cyan Blue

Hi ladies! Can you believe this is Day 7 of BarryM week? I mean I actually committed to posting something every day for the past week?! Granted all of them were scheduled posts, but if I hadn't have done that I don't think I would have ever gotten them up on time!
I'm quite sad to see this end, but I do have a couple other swatches from brands that have yet to make an appearance on my page coming pretty soon!
I thought what better way to end this week with my very first BarryM I ever bought at the age of 14, and yes, this is still that same bottle, 6 years later - no thinner has been added at all. Amazing right?!?

Cyan Blue is a gorgeous medium toned blue, high gloss creme polish, some could even call it a jelly, but I don't think it's watery enough to be counted as one. It's quite a bit darker than Blueberry Ice Cream, but light enough to be considered a 'Pastel shade'. The pigmentation of this particular polish is amazing, this is two coats, but you can easily get away with one thick coat. The wear is also out of this world! I wore it for a whole week whilst on holiday in Spain a couple of years ago, and it didn't chip at all! Granted there was a tiny bit of tip wear, but nothing major. If you have yet to try out a BarryM Nail Paint, then I suggest you start now, amazing quality for amazing prices.
Remember if you're in the UK you can purchase BarryM Nail Paints directly from their website or from Boots/Superdrug stores nationwide for £2.99 or £3.99 for their Instant Effects range. For international readers you too can order directly from their website or you can head over to Harlow & Co (who have just restocked, FYI) and pick one up for $7 or $8 for their Instant Effects range!

Swatch: BarryM - Lilac Foil (Instant Nail Effects)

Hi ladies! Welcome to Day 6 of BarryM week! Only one more day left, I just have to choose which one to feature! I won't bore you with the aimless ramblings today and just jump straight into it!
Lilac Foil is the newest addition to the Foil line at BarryM, originally released as a Superdrug exclusive polish over the Christmas period, but I guess the demand was so high, they decided to release it into their core line!
Lilac Foil is a Lilac base with Silver shimmer that dries into a shiny, metallic finish. As I mentioned with both the Silver & Gold Foil Effects, the brush lines are visible which is a common trait amongst all Foil polishes, but don't panic if you're anti lines there are ways to fix it!
Lilac Foil is available to buy on their website, Boots and Superdrug for £3.99! BarryM also offer international shipping too!

Tuesday 20 March 2012

Swatch: BarryM - Gold Foil (Instant Nail Effects)

Hi ladies! Welcome to Day 5 of BarryM week! Some of you may have already seen my post on BarryM - Silver Foil last month, so I thought it was about time I posted another polish from their Instant Nail Effects line. Gold Foil is one of the original two colours released by BarryM in their foil line, they have since added Lilac Foil into their collection (which was originally a Limited Edition polish over the Christmas period). I must say, it took me a while to actually buy Gold Foil, there was just something about it I didn't like, but I finally took the 'plunge' and picked it up.

Gold Foil is actually a lot less Yellow than I originally anticipated, which means it doesn't completely wash out my skin and make me look like I have lobsters for hands...which is always a bonus in my books. As like all foil effects, the brush strokes are visible there are ways to minimise this if you're anti brush lines, such as painting the sides of your nails first and then finishing off with a stroke down the middle.

BarryM Instant Nail Effects are available in the UK from their website, Boots & Superdrug for £3.99 each. Alternatively, if you're in the US/Canada you can purchase both the Foil and Crackle range from Harlow & Co. for $8 each.
Be sure to like both BarryM Cosmetics and Harlow & Co. on Facebook to keep updated with the latest news!

Swatch: BarryM - Lavender Hexograms

Oh hello BarryM, I haven't seen you around here for a while! LOL jk. I know I have been posting a LOT of BarryM polishes this week, this isn't actually on purpose, I just have so many unpublished BarryM polishes in my vault. Lets just call this week BarryM week shall we? Then everything sort of makes a little more sense.
Yesterday I showed you Berry Ice Cream and told you that I have a gorgeous glitter that looks amazing over the top of it, well here it is! Did any of you guess correctly?
Lavender Hexograms is a clear base packed with tiny specs of silver glitter and larger purple square glitters, anyone else wondering why they called it Lavender 'Hexograms'? Maybe it's because 'Lavender Squares' doesn't sound too appealing? Who knows.
This polish was a little bit of a pain to apply, the square glitter seemed to just clump together on the nail, maybe I should have shaken it around a bit more before applying, but I just wanted to give it a try! I also want to apologise for the photo quality, this was actually the only photo that wasn't blurry *shakes fist at camera* but I'm too poor to buy myself a brand spanking new one. I'd rather buy more polish...clearly my priorities are in order.
Well, this concludes Day 4 of BarryM week! Stay tuned for some more polishes from Mr Barry M!

Sunday 18 March 2012

Swatch: BarryM - Berry Ice Cream

Hi ladies! Another BarryM post for you today, carrying on with their Ice Cream line. Just a pointer, over the next few posts you will see the length of my nails change from short to long to short again. The reason for this is that I am trying to completely wipe my vault clean of photos that I need to post, otherwise they will be there until the end of time!
Berry Ice Cream is a pale pastel lilac creme and is opaque in 2 coats. This is very similar to Models Own - Lilac Dream (I will post a comparison at some point, don't hold your breath for this though!) but if you're looking for a cheaper alternative to Models Own, this is it!
I have one more polish in the Ice Cream line to show you after this, I'm missing Lemon Ice Cream, as yellows really aren't my forte and make my skin look really washed out and red looking. I also have a BarryM glitter that looks gorgeous over this colour, any guesses as to what it is? Find out in tomorrows post!

Nail Mail: What I've bought over a week.

Hi Ladies, so I haven't done a Nail Mail post in a while (apart from the two swap packages I received) I haven't been getting much Nail Mail lately to warrant a post, but I have been collecting quite a few things over this past week or so. I've actually bought a lot more than in this post, but all of those are for swaps and my secret bunny - so I'm not going to show you those. I am however going to show you what I've picked up for me along the way.

L-R: Golden Dragon, Magic Star, Groovy Grey, Midnight Kiss, Pool Party, Chocoholic, Flamingo & Hot Coral
Lately I have been a little bit obsessed with GOSH polishes, the main reason being that currently my Superdrug have a GOSH clearance bin in store that is filled to the brim with discontinued make-up and nail polish. I haven't been lucky enough to find Holographic or Rainbow, but I have managed to find other discontinued polishes - two being Golden Dragon & Magic Star. I managed to snap these up for £2 each! Bargain.

Finger Paints; Flecked & Motley & Collection 2000 Swizzles, Juicy & Sass
Finally my Finger Paints flakies collection is complete! Due to a full set getting lost in the mail *sadface* I never thought that my flakie collection would be completed and I would only have Twisted sent to me in Nicel's package but thanks to Sarah's swap I was able to add Asylum and Flashy to my collection. Now all I needed were Flecked & Motley, so I went searching and searching until a lovely lady from PaA said she had a full set available for swap, as I only needed two I thought she'd never split them up and I would have to keep looking but no, she let me take them :D. The Collection 2000 - Swizzles I got in a little set from the £1 and the other two were given to me by my friends mum :')

The final things are these mini stamping polishes I was sent from bornprettystore.com to review which arrived today and a Models Own polish in Disco Mix that I ordered a couple weeks ago when I was ordering some polishes for a swap. I've been after this for ages but whenever I wanted to order it, it was always out of stock *boo* so when I saw it was available I didn't think twice about adding it to my basket.

So that completes my little haul of what I have been buying lately! If you want to see a swatch of any of the polishes above, let me know and I will get those up for you!

Swatch: BarryM - Blueberry Ice Cream

Natural Light
Hi Ladies! I have another BarryM polish for you today, I'm definitely making up for lost time with these babies. I won't bore you with my irrelevant ramblings and I will just get straight into the post!
BarryM - Blueberry Ice Cream comes from the Ice Cream collection, which was released Spring of last year. It consisted of 4 polishes of which all were named after a flavour of Ice Cream, obviously.

Blueberry Ice Cream is a gorgeous bright pastel blue creme, like all BarryM polishes, it has a super shiny finish. I did 3 coats for the picture, which I'd say is more than enough. You could probably get away with just the two, but I messed up the first coat a little, so I had to even everything out a little.
This is definitely season appropriate and I will be wearing this during the Spring months, along with the rest of this collection, which I will be posting soon, so keep an eye out for those if you're interested! If you're wondering where you can purchase a BarryM Nail Paint of your own, they're available from Boots/Superdrug stores or online in the UK for £2.99. If you're international and want to own some BarryM, you can purchase them from their website or from Harlow & Co for $7 each!

Swatch: BarryM - Indigo

Natural Light

Hi ladies! I was browsing through my computer folders and found a fair few swatches that I have yet to post on my blog. A lot of them are so old I didn't feel they qualified to be published here, so I'm going to have to redo those.

With Flash
In the mean time, I'd like for you all to take a look at this beauty. This is BarryM - Indigo. I actually sold this polish in a blog sale recently, so it's not even with me anymore! I do, however, think I will repurchase this because it makes great underwear for Max Factor's Fantasy Fire!
Indigo is a gorgeous blue purple creme polish! It's one of those nightmare to capture polishes too. My camera picked it up a lot more blue than it actually is irl. I know this is a common problem with this particular shade, so whoever managed to capture it truly, kudos to you!
Many of you know, I am a die hard BarryM fan and have been for at least 7 years now! Their polishes are excellent value for money and actually last on the nails. I once wore a BarryM Nail Paint for a whole week when on holiday and it didn't even chip! Amazing.

Tuesday 13 March 2012

Swatch: Models Own - Foxy Fuchsia

Hi ladies! Another swatch for you today! I'm totally nailing my swatch vault right now, woohoo.
Here we have Models Own - Foxy Fuchsia, another polish I bought for a swap last year but decided to keep for myself after it didn't go ahead.
Foxy Fuchsia is definitely a Summer colour, it's a bright, hot pink creme and is opaque in 1/2 coats! The pictures don't do it as much justice as in real life, but they come pretty close. I'm not the biggest fan of pinks on my nails, but I loove the way this one looks against my skin.
If you don't have this in your collection yet, I suggest you get to it! You won't be disappointed, I promise you. This will more than likely be a staple colour in my 'Summer Nail Wardrobe'.
You can buy Models Own from their website or most Boots stores in the UK for £5 each. For you international ladies, check out Harlow & Co to get your Models Own fix at $10 each!

Monday 12 March 2012

Swatch: BarryM - Mint Green

Natural Light - Shade
I have another polish for you from my swatch fest today! As the weather in the UK is slowly getting a little bit warmer, I thought it was time to get a couple Spring polishes up and what says 'Here comes the sun' better than BarryM - Mint Green.
Mint Green is a beautiful mint green pastel creme, when I first saw it on the shelves, I thought it looked similar to China Glaze - For Audrey, but when the bottles are together, For Audrey is definitely more blue.
Direct Sunlight

Like all BarryM polishes, Mint Green applied like a dream *ooh rhyme* it was a lot more opaque than I thought it would be and I only needed 2 thick coats for the swatch. Drying time can vary with BarryM polishes, sometimes they can dry super quick, others can take a little more time but as I was sitting getting a little bit of a tan at the same time, I didn't really mind it too much ^.^
What are your thoughts on BarryM polishes? Love them or Loathe them? Let me know in the comments!

Swatch: OPI - Meet Me On The Star Ferry

Hi guyss! I'm back again *gasp* two swatch posts in one day?! What is going on!!
Anyway, I have another polish to show you from my little 'swatch challenge' I did today. This has been on my wish list for a long time now, I'm not 100% sure why I wanted it so bad but thanks to Sarah it is now mine! Meet Me On The Star Ferry comes from the Hong Kong collection released in Spring 2010. At first look Meet Me On The Star Ferry looks like a dusty, rosy mauve with a golden shimmer, but when held in the light tons of multi-coloured shimmer appears!

How gorgeous does it look? When I saw this happen in the sunlight, all my doubts of why I wanted this colour just melted away. I can honestly say that I don't have anything quite like this polish in my ever-growing collection!

What are your thoughts and feelings on this polish? If you own it, were you as surprised as I was to see all the gorgeous shimmery goodness in the sunlight?
I plan to set myself another swatch challenge tomorrow, so if you've seen a polish on my Stash List that you want to see swatched, let me know in the comments and I will get right on that for you!

Swatch: GOSH - Wild Lilac

First of all, I want to apologise for being such a terrible blogger! I haven't posted a swatch for you guys in what seems like forever. The main reason for this is because my boyfriends dad has been off work, so I feel a bit of a tool prancing around in the garden trying to take photos of my hands! I hope you can forgive me!
It was such a beautiful day today that I decided I would set myself a swatch challenge. So I piled about 10 polishes into a little basket, along with polish remover, cotton pads and cutips, sat at the table on my patio and told myself I wasn't allowed to move until they had all been swatched...which I did! *yay*
So today I have for you the last of my GOSH polishes that needed to be swatched; Wild Lilac. Wild Lilac is a gorgeous blue-toned lilac creme which applies beautifully in 2 coats. I do find GOSH polishes to be a little thick at times, but even then they're not impossible to use!
I originally bought this polish for a swap I was doing last year, but the person I was swapping with pulled out at the last minute, so instead of selling it, I decided to keep it for myself!

What are your thoughts on Wild Lilac? I'm definitely going to be wearing this a little bit more during the Spring season, I just can't believe this was the first time I've ever used it! *slaps wrist*

Nail Mail: My Swap Polishes from Sarah!

Hi guyss! I have some exciting nail mail for you today from another swap I did with Sarah from SeeSarahSwatch! If you haven't checked out her blog, I suggest you do so, she even makes cute frankens which she sells in her Etsy shop! So go and check those out too! Lets get on to the good stuff shall we?

A lovely little note and some tasty chocolate treats!

FINGER PAINTS!!! I've gone from having 0 Finger Paints polishes on Monday to now having 9! Yes, those are flakies too! Woooo. I now have two of Asylum, Twisted and Flashy all I need now are Motley and Flecked, which hopefully I will be getting in the next couple weeks from a lovely lady in PaA. The other colours are Tough Art to Follow (green), Art of Theft (Purple) & Vermillion $ Painting (Orange). So excited to finally have some Finger Paints of my own!

OPI motherlicking DS!!! OH MY GOD. This is DS Magic and my first DS polish, I almost squealed a little bit when I unwrapped this! It's so pretty! I also have OPI Meet Me On The Star Ferry, which has been a lemming of mine for a while. Sarah also sent me a franken she's made called If A Tree Falls...It sort of reminds me of Orly's Androgynie! I can't wait to get a swatch up on my blog for you guys to see, hopefully I can do it justice!

Thank you so much to Sarah for sending me these amazing polishes! I hope your package arrives to you soon ^.^ Like I said, if you haven't checked out Sarah's blog yet, go and do that right now! She's awesome.
