Hi ladies! Next up on the ABC Challenge stop we have 'C'. I had SO many options for C that I was struggling with which to choose, eventually I settled with Catrice, a European brand. Before we get into the swatches, I want to apologise for the photos. The lighting was completely off when I did these, it was SUPER dull outside and that shows in them, they're also a little grainy for my liking. Hopefully you'll forgive me and just enjoy...Remember to click here to see all ABC challenge posts!
Heavy Metallic is a frosty Purple metallic with flashes of Magenta and Purple running throughout. It's definitely one of those polishes that catches your eye, just by the way it glows from the nail. I wish I could have captured this polish better than I did. I used 2 coats of Heavy Metallic for the photos, without a base/top coat.
King Of Greens is a Forest Green polish with subtle Green and Silver shimmers. This is another one that I was just unable to capture it's true beauty, pretty much failing at this 'improving my photos' lark aren't I!? This is 2 coats of King Of Greens without a base or top coat.
Catrice polishes retail for around €2.50, being slightly more for Limited Edition shades, and are found in various European drugstores, unfortunately that doesn't include the UK, which is a total shame since I love Catrice! Which 'C' brand would have been your brand of choice for this post?
Stay tuned for D's entry later today!

ABC Challenge: B is for Butter London
Hi ladies, me again! I'm back with the second post of the day this time with Butter London, you can see my first post with the introduction to the ABC challenge and All That Glitters for 'A's entry by clicking here. Or alternatively you could click here to see all posts for the ABC Challenge so far, because there's THAT many...Since I've already introduced the Challenge and all that jazz, I won't ramble on aimlessly. So let's get into the swatches shall we..
Scouse is a Royal Blue/Purple/Pink Duochrome which is built up of Blue, Purple and Pink flakies which dries to a Satin finish. I was actually surprised at how sheer this polish is, it took 3 coats to reach full opacity, which is unusual for such a dark polish, I guess that has something to do with the flakies inside the polish. This is Scouse without a Base or Top Coat.
Brummie is a Bright Purple Creme which dries to a Rubber finish. I had to use 3 coats of Brummie to reach full opacity and to cover the odd patches from the second coat. This is Brummie without a Base or Top Coat.
We seemed to have had a little 'accent' post going on here, which wasn't even intended. For those of you not from the UK, A 'Scouse' is the British Slang for the people and accent of Liverpool and a 'Brummie' is British Slang for the people and accent of Birmingham. I also believe both polishes featured above are US exclusives, with Brummie only being sold at Macy's but I was fortunate enough to receive these in a Secret Santa package a group I'm in was hosting.
Which brand would have been your pick for 'B'? Let me know in the comments!
ABC Challenge: A is for All That Glitters
Hi ladies! I hope you all had a good New Year filled with celebrations with your loved ones! As I mentioned in my New Year...New Blog post, I have decided to do the ABC Challenge, which I've seen floating around the blogisphere this past year and always wanted to do it but never got around to it. I've seen various takes on the ABC Challenge, from polish names to nail art prompts, but I haven't personally seen a pure Brand only challenge, which is what I plan on attempting this month! I say attempt, since I don't actually know if there are Brands for every letter of the alphabet and I sure as hell don't own them all, but with a little help from some amazing friends, I have been able to acquire some letters I was missing.
As much as I'd love to show you every polish I own from each brand which corresponds to the letter of the day - I can't as it would have taken me forever and a day, and then what would I have been able to show for the rest of the year? So I have chosen to show 2 swatches of a particular brand for each entry but I will link back to some previous posts featuring polishes with that letter.
Also, since I've decided to only post 3/7 days a week, I'll be showing 2 challenge entries a day, in separate posts, conveniently taking us to the end of January.
So I hope you enjoy this challenge and let me know which would be your brand of choice for each letter!
Kicking us off, we have All That Glitters!
Not A Prize To Be Won is a mixture of Lilac, Purple, Teal and Turquoise various sized Hex and Squared glitters in a sheer-toned Turquoise base. I applied 1 generous coat of Not A Prize To Be Won over Butter London - Scouse and applied a Top Coat to smooth it over.
Very Peacock-Ish is a mixture of Iridescent, Turquoise, Purple and Green Hexagonal, Square and Bar glitters with larger Gold & Black Hex glitters in a sheer Light Blue base. I applied 1 coat of Very Peacock-Ish over China Glaze - Hanging In The Balance and added a Top coat to smooth it all over.
You can purchase these polishes for yourself directly from All That Glitters Etsy store for $8 each or they are available from various on line retailers, such as Mei Mei Signatures for the same price! Which Brand would you have chosen as 'A'? Stay tuned for the second post of the day coming shortly!
