Swatch: BeautyUK - Candy Collection

Hi ladies! You may remember a couple days ago I posted this press release of the new Candy collection being released by beautyUK, well today I have those swatches to show you! If you've not heard of beautyUK, they're a British beauty brand which can be found in most Superdrug stores or on www.beautyukcosmetics.com. Here's a little snippet I took from their website describing their brand;

"Born and bred in the UK (hence the name), beautyuk has grown from strength to strength since its humble beginnings five years ago. We are a family run business, which is quite nice really in a world full of big, scary, faceless corporations, and it means we can provide a much friendlier, more tailored service for our customers.
We have big plans to become the number one colour cosmetics brand in the market and we think our website makes our statement quite nicely - we hope you like it."

Bon Bon is a Mustard Yellow creme. I've yet to come across a Yellow that a) suits my skin tone & b) isn't a streaky mess and this unfortunately, didn't break that streak (excuse the pun). The photos above are 3 coats of Bon Bon without a Base/Top coat.

Dolly Mixture is a Coral creme with Red undertones. The photos above are 2 coats of Dolly Mixture without a Base/Top coat.

Lollipop is a bright Pink creme. For the photos above I used 2 coats of Lollipop without a Base/Top coat.

Gobstopper is a Turquoise 'matte' polish, it is more on the Greener side than what is picked up on my camera. I was a little disappointed with the next two colours, as stated on the bottle, they're supposed to be a matte finish, however as you can see from the photos above, though they aren't as shiny as the previous 3 colours, they're not completely matte. That being said, even without Gobstopper being a true matte polish, the colour itself more than makes up for that. The photos above are 2 coats of Gobstopper without a Base/Top coat.

Jelly Bean is a medium toned Purple 'matte'. As I mentioned with Gobstopper, Jelly Bean isn't actually a matte polish, though it has a less shiny finish to Bon Bon, Dolly Mixture & Lollipop it isn't completely matte. For the photos above I used 2 coats of Jelly Bean without a Base/Top coat.

Overall, I found the formula easy to work with, with the exception of Bon Bon. They were streaky after the first coat, but evened out nicely with the second. A third coat was applied if needed for full opacity. The Candy collection is now available to buy at www.beautyukcosmetics.com or in Superdrug stores/online for £1.99 each!
