Press Release: BarryM - Gelly Nail Paints!

Hi ladies! You may have seen these teaser photos, as well as swatches, popping up on the BarryM Facebook page, well I can now announce that they will be available to buy on the BarryM website from September 21st and also in  Superdrug stores from September 26th and Boots from October 3rd! Priced at £3.99 each, these Gel Effect Nail Paints give an extra glossy finish in just one coat!

There are a total of 9 shades in the new Gelly range! These are;

Plum (Purple)
Blackberry (Navy)
Watermelon (Dark Green)
Blood Orange (Red)
Blueberry (Light blue)
Prickly Pear (Light Purple)
Satsuma (Orange)
Grapefruit (Pink)
Pomegranate (Hot Pink)

I'm really excited to try these out, being in the UK there aren't many brands out there that have gone to the Jelly side of the polish finishes, at least affordable brands anyway and since I've never had anything but praise for BarryM Nail Paints, I just know these are going to be super popular! Which shade(s) are you looking forward to trying the most?

Swatch: Megan Miller - Framboise

Hi ladies! Remember me?! I'm really sorry that I have been almost non-existent over the past couple of weeks! To be honest, I'm completely overwhelmed at the moment and blogging/swatching has been one of the last things on my mind. I'm now in the process of kicking myself back into gear and getting up posts on a more regular basis, I just need to work out a schedule!
Anyway, back to the main post! I have a polish by a brand named Megan Miller, which I believe is relatively new to the polish scene with 12 colours currently in the collection. Ever since I first found out about Megan Miller, I have been wanting to try them out. The reason being the cute bottle the polish is housed in! I've honestly never seen anything quite like these little bottles of joy.
The polish I have to show you today is Framboise, a deep, Burgundy red jelly. The photos below are three coats of Framboise without a top/base coat. I was impressed with the formula, it was exactly the right consistency, not too runny (which I have found with a few jellies I have come across) and it dried in a good amount of time.

Megan Miller polishes are available to purchase worldwide from Mei Mei Signatures for 18SGD (Singapore Dollars) which works out at around £10/$14/€12 each for 15ml of product. As well as Megan Miller, Mei Mei Signatures stocks a wide range of polish from Indie Brands (Girly Bits, All That Glitters) to Mainstream Brands (China Glaze, OPI, Orly).  You can find both Megan Miller & Mei Mei Signatures on Facebook where they post latest news/discounts on various polishes from Mei Mei and upcoming polishes from Megan Miller!

Swatch: Revlon - Whimsical

Hi ladies! So yesterday I showed you Sea Spray by China Glaze and said that this was amazing underwear for a certain polish, well this is the polish! I know Sinful Colors - Cinderella has been raved about being the perfect base for Whimsical, although I do own Cinderella, I wanted to be different. I received my Whimsical in a swap I did with Nicole from Let Me See Your Peacock since it's unavailable in the UK as far as I know, surprise surprise! Whimsical has been dubbed the Deborah Lippmann - Glitter In The Air dupe and as far as I can see, it's definitely worthy of it's title. Whimsical is a light blue and pink hex glitter with smaller blue glitter in a sheer, light blue jelly base. As common amongst glitters, it was hard to get an even amount of glitter on the nail and required some dipping and dabbing to get the glitter where I wanted it. The photos below are 2 coats of Whimsical over Sea Spray without a Top Coat.

Overall I can see why there is such hype around Whimsical, the polish is beautiful, of course it helps that Revlon is only a fraction the price of Deborah Lippmann polishes! What do you think about Whimsical?

Hi ladies! I have a super quick post today to show you another one of my GOSH polishes in the shade Flamingo. Flamingo is a bright pink jelly polish which is opaque in 2 coats. I picked this polish up in the 3 for 2 on GOSH products about a month or two ago.

Swatch: Dandy Nails - You Set My Soul Alight

Hi ladies! 3rd post today, call me butter...cause I'm on a roll. I was going to leave this until tomorrow to show you, but it's so pretty I had to show you it right away. Dandy Nails is a new custom polish range created by Sandy of Dandy Nails and can be bought directly from her Etsy store! I currently have 3 of her polishes, but after swatching all of them, I can safely say I will be purchasing more in the future.
You Set My Soul Alight is a black jelly based packed with pink, purple, teal & silver holographic micro glitter. The photos below are 2/3 coats of You Set My Soul Alight alone, you can choose to layer it over a black polish if you're a little stuck for time, but I wanted to see how it stood on it's own two feet.

Natural Lighting (please excuse my AWFUL cuticles/skin in these photos!)

Blurred so you can see the pretty holo!
How pretty! Besides it being a gorgeous polish, I originally wanted this for the name. I'm a HUGE Muse fan, Supermassive Blackhole being one of my favourite songs (of which the polish name originates).
You can purchase Dandy Nails polish directly from her Etsy store for $7.50 - $8, which is roughly £4.80 - £5.20. What do you think to You Set My Soul Alight? Will you be ordering from Sandy any time soon?

GOSH - Lambada

Just a short post but today I have for you Lambada by GOSH. I absolutely LOVE this colour. It's the most perfect colour for this time of year. A beautiful, in your face, bright red creme polish. Applies perfectly and opaque in 2 coats. For some reason, the camera didn't want to pick up its true colour, making it look a bit more of an orange/red, but I assure you it's simply beautiful.

Love it.

E.L.F: Dark Purple Glitter

Now, to be honest with you, I don't know what to make of this colour. A part of me absolutely loves it, but there's another part of me that doesn't. Dark Purple Glitter is one of the many polishes I purchased in ELF's 40% off sale for 90p, usually £1.50. It's a dark, vampy purple with blue toned glass flecks running throughout, giving it a lighter feel. Now, I was a bit disappointed with how this translated onto my nails, in the bottle it looks very glitter heavy, but on my nails there is hardly anything.
The application is very smooth and is opaque in 2 coats, as it is a glass fleck, the removal process is very quick and easy, which was good as I swatched a lot of polishes before and after taking this photo, many of which I'll have to re-do due to half hearted clean ups.
Kudos to all those polishaholic bloggers out there that swatch whole collections in one day, it gets very tedious very quickly, I can't imagine what it's like with full glitters!
If there's any specific polish you'd like to see swatched from my recent ELF Haul, let me know in the comments!!
