May'd In Britain: NYC

Hi ladies! Today on the May'd In Britain series we have New York Color, otherwise known as NYC. Now I'm not gonna lie, I can be a bit of a polish snob sometimes and overlook the 'cheap' brands you often find in Superdrug/Boots with the exception of BarryM cause let's face it, they're amazing. So you can imagine my surprise when I tried NYC for the first time and instantly fell in LOVE with the brand. Not only is their In A New York Minute range priced at just £1.79 each, they have one of the best formula's I have tried, like it's up there with BarryM/China Glaze etc. After a little bit of research, I also found that NYC polishes are 3-free and free from Formaldehyde Resin! As of right now, I can't comment on the longevity of the polishes as I haven't conducted a 'wear test' yet, but with a good base/top coat, I'm sure these will last you a long time.
As I mentioned briefly, I am completely surprised by the formula of the polishes, they apply well without any streaking/patchiness, they dry reasonably fast (maybe not quite a minute, but not much longer) and they're amazingly pigmented. To top it all off, they have a large flat brush (think OPI) for easy application.

As always, all purchase information can be found at the bottom of the post!

Challenge: Day 10 - Gradient Nails

Hi ladies! We're officially 1/3 of our way through the challenge! How are you all doing? I'm loving looking through the inlinkz posts and seeing all your amazing designs! So Day 10 brings us to Gradient Nails, now call me a total newbie, but I have NEVER done a gradient nail before, shocking I know. So a couple Youtube videos later, I was ready to take on the challenge. I started off with 2 coats of OPI - My Boyfriend Scales Walls then using a make-up sponge, I painted stripes of Essie - Fear Or Desire, Essie - Off The Shoulder and NYC - Lexington Yellow on to the sponge and patted it all over my nails.

What do you think to my first Gradient attempt? I'm actually pretty pleased with how it turned out! Remember to add your link to the inlinkz form below so I can browse your entries for Day 10 too! For those of you wanting to add the inlinkz to your own posts, click here to be taken to the google doc with everything you'll need for the next 30 days!

Challenge: Day 3 - Yellow Nails

Hi ladies! Day 3 of the 30 Day Challenge is Yellow Nails! Now I don't know about you, but I'm not a fan of Yellow polish, in total, I have 2 one of which can be seen here, luckily for me, my other Yellow polish is currently untried! For Day 3 I used 3 coats of NYC - Lexington Yellow on my Ring finger then used some French Tip Guides on all my other nails, again with 3 coats of Lexington Yellow. I then used Black & White Acrylic Paints for the details and sealed in the design with one coat of Color Club top coat.

Please excuse my sorry excuse of a Bumblebee! So that ends Day 3 of 30! Remember to check out the other ladies Nails! For those of you wanting to add the inlinkz to your own posts, click here to be taken to the google doc with everything you'll need for the next 30 days!
